Care and maintenance

Caution!

For cleaning, use only water and domestic care agents such as detergents and textile

care products, soft cloths or impregnation and silicone spray. Do not use any sharp

edged tools or cleaning agents with a scouring effect. Cleaning agents containing

acids and solvents are also not permitted.

Caution!

Please note that textiles or fabric parts must always be completely dry in order to

avoid the formation of mould and mildew stains. Always use the right raincover

when driving in the rain or on snow.
To avoid bleaching of the fabric, we do not recommend exposing the trailer

to direct sunlight. When transporting the trailer in the vehicle, cover the trailer

because the glass of a vehicle can accelerate the bleaching of the fabric.

Regular care and maintenance of all parts and components helps prevent premature wear and

keeps the

Speedkid

ready for use at all times. This is particularly important when one of the

following influencing factors applies to your individual conditions of use:

»

Frequent use with high mileage

»

Regular use close to the maximum permitted total weight

»

A sporty riding style (sudden starting and braking, cornering at speed etc.)

»

Excessive weather influences such as UV radiation, temperature fluctuations, moisture,

contact with salt (road salt, sea water, salty air)

»

Unfavourable storing conditions (shortage of space, variations in temperature, sun light and

moisture)

Caution!

It is essential to adhere to the following care instructions and maintenance

intervals. Perform the tests stated in the checklists conscientiously and at the

specified times in order to use the Speedkid in a technically safe condition.
Replace damaged components immediately, see

„Spare parts“ on page 35

. If

necessary, contact our service department or your local specialist dealer, see

„Support-Information“ on page 34

.

Caution!

Despite the use of weather proof material, the corrosion cannot be completely

eliminated.
De-icing salts such as magnesium chloride can lead to stress corrosion

cracking on the components. In winter or in case of rain, it is also recommended

to clean the trailer after each ride with a dry cloth. In addition, a treatment

with cleansers and preservatives such as wax or spray oil every two weeks is

recommended.
