SCAN
After I finish a scan, how do I store the WIFI-BUDDY?
Stop WIFI MATE by pressing the Quit Button after stopping the Sampling. Turn the
Router OFF. Turn the Adapter Power OFF, otherwise the batteries will drain unnec-
essary. The TH1 module does not need a power OFF button. It will switch to a low
power mode by itself. Put the set-up and the router away.
Do I have to go through the configuration process every time I collect Data?
No. The configuration process is necessary only for the first time.
1.
Next time, turn the PC and Router ON.
2.
Make sure the PC is connected to the Network and the IP Settings are correct.
3.
Turn all the Adapters ON. Verify the green LED on the Adapter turns On and OFF
4.
Turn WIFI Mate ON.
5.
Press the start Scan and you will reach the Select Scan screen immediately
6.
Make your selection to start collecting Data.
I want to use the PC to connect to the Internet when I am finished with Data
Collection. How do I do so?
After Data Collection is over, repeat the process in Section 5, until you get to the
section where one assigned the Static IP. Now, press the two buttons a) Obtain an IP
address Automatically and b) Obtain a DNS server address Automatically. Press OK
and connect to the WIFI address where you would have Internet Connectivity. You
should be able to resume normal operation with the PC at that point.
What precautions do I need to take for Battery Life?
WIFI Communication is very power hungry. Typically, the batteries in the Adapter will
be exhausted after 24 hours of continuous data collection. Make sure the Adapter
Power is switched OFF when not in use.
