Reassembly

1. Place the dry electronic filter (cell) back on the chassis, making sure the wider spaced plates

(ionizer section) face the outside of the unit. Also make sure the handle is at the top of the unit.

2. Insert the ground screw in the proper location and tighten.

3. Place the carbon after-filter back into the unit.

4. Replace the cover assembly and secure with the fasteners.

5. Before plugging the unit in, make sure the variable control knob is in the Off position. Plug in the

line cord and turn the unit on. If arcing occurs, turn the unit off until the electronic filter cell has
been dried completely.

ARCING (SNAPPING OR CRACKING NOISE) - An occasional arcing noise may he emitted from the
air cleaner. This is normal and is caused by a large piece of dirt entering the collecting cell. An arcing
noise may also be noted after cell washing. If this occurs and is constant, allow more time for the
cell to dry.

HUMMING NOISE - The ionizing wires tend to vibrate when charged. At times when atmospheric
conditions are just right, and the humidity is exceptionally low, the vibration is increased to the
point where an audible hum may he noted. It usually occurs more in the northern sections of the
country during the winter months. This condition can be aggravated if the ionizing-collecting cell is
very dirty. The condition is self-correcting when the relative humidity is increased or can be
alleviated by washing the cell.

IF YOUR UNIT CONTINUES TO SNAP, CRACKLE OR POP – Turn unit off. Remove the electronic cell
from the air cleaner. Check the cell wires for breakage or damage. Replace if necessary. Check the
cell fins for bends or creases. Make sure the fins are lined up straight. If the electronic cell shows
signs of damage, replace immediately.

WARNING:

Electronic cells are a delicate instrument and should be handled accordingly. Warranty covers

manufacturer’s defects only. LA assumes no responsibility for misused or damaged cells due to improper
handling or maintenance.

CAUTION:

Use care when handling the electronic cells. The metal edges can be sharp. Also, be careful not to

damage cells by dropping, bumping against furniture, etc. Do not splash detergent solution in eyes and avoid
prolonged contact with skin. Keep detergent out of children's reach.
