Cleaning & Maintaining Your Carbon Filter
Water Decanter
1. Remove the Signature Carbon Filter, spigot, and any other attached components.
2. Clean the inside and outside of the upper and lower containers with a soft cloth, using warm water and a mild dish soap. Never use harsh chemicals and other cleaners.
Marks and splatters will be more easily removed from the container’s exterior stainless steel powder-coated finish when cleaned promptly.
NOTE: If your Carbon Filter Water Decanter is filtering hard water, which is water with a high-dissolved mineral content, scale from naturally occurring minerals such as
calcium may develop in the spigot and chambers after prolonged use. These deposits can be removed by soaking the affected components in a 50% vinegar and 50%
water mixture for about 15 minutes, followed by washing with water and mild dish soap. Do not soak the Signature Carbon Filter in the vinegar mixture.
NOTE: The Signature Carbon Filter should be replaced at least once a year. More frequent replacement may be required depending on the frequency of use and source water.
WARNING! NEVER use alcohol or other solvents to clean the Carbon Filter Water Decanter as it will remove the paint.
The water decanter containers, particularly the lower container, should be cleaned at least once per month. More frequent cleaning may be necessary depending on your use and
source water quality.
