
Start-up Procedure
Peerless 10 IFCF-AP-W Chemical Free Iron Filter
1. Using proper plumbing practices, assemble the Check Valve to the inlet on the retention tank. Pipe 1” inlet
and outlet service piping, as shown on the drawing.
2. Connect 5/8” poly tubing (not supplied) from valve to suitable drain. The backwash rate is 6.5 gpm. The drain
line fitting is 5/8” compression.
DO NOT
use clear collapsible tubing.
3. Plug in the two power cords from the unit into an approved 120 VAC outlet. The air pump plugs into the
female outlet on the back of the control valve.
4. A. Press the Set Clock button once and the hour will flash. Use the Up/Down triangle buttons until the correct
hour is displayed.
B. Press the Set Clock button again and the minutes will flash. Use the Up/Down triangle buttons until the
correct minutes are displayed.
C. Press the Set Clock button to finish. Note: Time of day must be set correctly to AM or PM
5. A. Press the Next and the up button at the same time and the display will show —NA—.
B. Press the next button and the display will show 4 days between regeneration.
This is the factory default,
change only if directed by factory.
C. Press the Next button and the display will show regeneration time of 1:00 AM. This is the factory default. To
change this value use the Up/Down triangle to adjust the hour of regeneration.
D. Press the Next button to display the minutes of regeneration. To change this value use the Up/Down triangle
to adjust the minutes of regeneration.
E. Press the Next button to return to the service position.
6. A. With the bypass valve in the bypass position, press and hold the Regen button for 5 seconds. Release when
the display shows Backwash. Now partly open the Inlet valve to allow the tank to fill slowly. Let the water
run to the drain until clear.
B. Press and release the Regen button and the display will show Rinse. Let the water run until clear at the drain.
The rinse water is downflow and is an example of how the service water will appear.
C. Press the Regen button and release. The display will return to the Service Position.
D. Repeat the above steps until the water runs clear at the drain.
7. Open only the cold water valves at first to make sure the water is clear. Let the water run for 3 minutes, and view
to make sure it’s clear before running the hot water.
8. Write installation date (month/year) on the sticker found on the front cover of the control valve.
