The following section provides a summary of the front and back panel hardware features of VTrak N1008.

Front Panel

The front panel of VTrak N1008 enclosures provide access to drives carriers. Defective drives can be

replaced without interruption of data availability to the host computer. If so configured, a hot spare drive

will automatically replace a failed drive, securing the fault-tolerant integrity of the logical drive. The self-

contained hardware-based RAID logical drive in the VTrak N1008 provides maximum performance in a

compact external enclosure.

The VTrak N1008 system power button located on the front includes the Power status LED.

LED Description

Power

Lights BLUE to indicate the system is pow-

ered on. Blinks BLUE in shutdown mode.

Drive Status

Each drive carrier has two LEDs on the

right side of the front, the Drive Status

LED located above the Activity LED. The

Drive Status LED displays BLUE when

a drive is configured and working prop

erly. When the lights are RED the HDD

requires manual replacement. ORANGE

indicates background RAID activity on this

particular HDD, no user action is required.

Drive Activity

Steady BLUE when HDD link is estab-

lished, flashes BLUE during drive activity.
