Spanning
In a Spanning array, the disk array capacity is equal to the sum of all drives, even if the
drives are of different capacities. Spanning stores data onto a drive until it is completely
filled then proceeds to store data onto the next drive in the array. There are no
performance or fault tolerance array features in this type of array. When a disk member
fails, the entire array is offline.
