User qualification, maintenance/repair: trained and qualified
Chapter 3.4 ‘User qualification’ on page 12
12.1 Safety guidelines for maintenance and repair
Only allow trained and qualified personnel to service or repair the
system.
n
Ensure that persons who undertake maintenance and repair
work on the system have read and understood the operating
instructions and in particular the "Safety" chapter.
n
For safety reasons, when the system is idle, ensure that the
mains switch is switched off as a matter of principle if safety
equipment is open. Ensure that appropriate measures are put
in place to ensure that the system cannot be inadvertently
switched on and operated in this state.
Even after the system has been switched off at the mains
switch, parts of the electrical system inside the control cabinet
are still energised. Wait at least 5 minutes after the power
supply to the system has been disconnected before under‐
taking any work inside the cabinet.
If safety equipment needs to be removed for setting, mainte‐
nance of repair work, make sure that the safety equipment is
subsequently refitted. Once the work has been completed,
make sure that the safety equipment is working properly.
n
Ensure that pipes are at normal pressure and ozone-free
before undertaking work on the gas pipes. Ensure when
depressurising pipes carrying oxygen that personnel are not
endangered by the oxygen.
n
Only use original spare parts for maintenance and repair.
n
Regular inspection and maintenance is essential for the safe
and proper operation of the system and prevents the system
from malfunctioning.
12.2 Routine inspection
The following table outlines recommended routine inspections,
which the system should undergo. Keep a written record of all
maintenance and inspection work undertaken. A template for this
record can be found in the Appendix. Keep a logbook for the
system.
