set
Starting
Connecting to the power supply
- Check whether the mains voltage is adequate
for and identical to the data shown on the model
plate.
Important.
Damaged mains plugs may only be replaced by
an electrician.
Connecting the welding cables
Important.
Only connect the welding cables when the
machine is not connected to the power supply .
- Connect the plug on the electrode cable (3)
+
to the coupling (9)
+
on the welding set.
- Connect the plug on the earth electrode cable
(4)
–
to the coupling (10)
–
on the welding set.
- Lock the plugs by turning them clockwise.
Switching on
Turn the potentiometer (6) clockwise out of
its zero position 20 to the thickness of the
electrode you wish to use as indicated on the
potentiometer scale.
The green operating control lamp (7) will be lit.
(B2)
Switching off
Turn the potentiometer (6) anti-clockwise to 20.
The operating control lamp (7) will go out. (B2)
Preparations for welding
- First connect the earth terminal (4)
–
to the
workpiece.
IMPORTANT.
Ensure that there is a direct
electrical contact to the workpiece.
- Do not use painted or coated contact points or
contact points that are covered with insulating
materials.
- Place a sheathed electrode in the electrode
holder (3)
+
.
IMPORTANT.
Sheathed electrodes are
generally connected to
+
.
- However, there are electrodes which must be
connected to
–
.
- In this case connect the earth terminal (4) to +
and the electrode holder to
–
.
- Refer to the information supplied by the
electrode manufacturer about the type of
electrode and polarity.
Working with the inverter welding set
IMPORTANT.
Always use the welding shield
before making contact between the electrode
and the workpiece.
IMPORTANT.
Ensure that all the
connections have been made correctly.
- Connect the welding set to the mains supply.
- Set the potentiometer (6) to the thickness of the
electrode you intend to use.
