2. Safety instructions
2.1 Important. A welding power source with
protection type IP 21 is not suitable for use in
rain.
2.2 Important. A welding power source is not
suitable for thawing pipes.
2.3 Take precautions to prevent the welding
power source from falling over if you have to
position it at an angle.
2.4 Always transport the welding power source
using the carry strap or transport handle
provided for this purpose.
2.5 Check the mains cable, earth and electrode
cable for signs of damage before starting.
Damaged cables must be replaced without
delay by a specialist company.
2.6 Clean the earth terminal and electrode
tongs as well as the ventilation openings on the
welding power source after use.
2.7 Servicing and repair work may only be
carried out by trained personnel.
2.8 Only use the earth and electrode cables
supplied with the equipment and damaged
cables may only be replaced by a trained
specialist using an identical cable type.
2.9 Always ensure that the welding power source
can draw in sufficient air through the ventilation
slots.
2.10 Ensure that the welding power source is
correctly connected to the mains. Avoid all
tension on the mains, earth and electrode
cables.
2.11 Remove all inflammable substances before
you start the welding work.
2.12 Do not carry out welding work on containers,
vessels or pipes which contain inflammable
liquids or gases.
2.13 Do not carry out welding work on containers,
vessels or pipes which are pressurised.
2.14 Important. Avoid direct contact between the
electrode tongs and the earth terminal. The
idling voltage is dangerous.
2.15 Ensure that there is an adequate air supply.
2.16 The radiation from the arc can damage the
eyes and cause skin burns. Do not look into the
arc with unprotected eyes.
