To clean the metal chip shield:
1. Unscrew the two knob bolts
(A) on the blade housing.
See Figure 20.
2. Remove the metal chip
shield (B). See Figure 21.
3. Remove all metal chips and
reinstall the metal chip shield
before use.
CAUTION: Always keep the saw
away from your body when
removing the metal chip shield. Be
careful not to touch any chips, as
they will fall out and be very hot.

REPLACING CARBON BRUSHES
CAUTION: Turn the switch off and disconnect plug from power source
before checking the carbon brushes.
1. Use a screwdriver to remove
the brush caps (A).
2. Take out the worn carbon
brushes (B) and insert new
carbon brushes and secure
the brush holder caps. See
Figure 22.
Regularly inspect the carbon
brushes and replace them when
they are worn down to 6 mm
closest to the spring. Replace all
carbon brushes at same time, using
the proper brushes made by the
same manufacturer. Keep the carbon brushes clean and sliding freely
in the holder.
