You do not need any special knowledge or experience to set up the EFX. However,
you will need to obtain appropriate assistance during assembly.
Installation Requirements
Follow these installation requirements when installing the EFX.
Important: If you do not install the unit according to the following guidelines, you could
void the Precor limited warranty.
•
Set up the EFX on a solid, flat surface. Unpack and assemble the unit close to
where you plan to use it. Make sure that the flat surface under the unit is smooth
and level. A level unit is required for the user’s safety and proper operation.
Important: If you plan to move the EFX, do so before you install the handrails.
Ask for assistance to move the unit. Once the handrails are in place, the unit is
too wide to fit through a standard (32-inch) door frame.
•
Provide ample space around the unit. Open space around the unit makes for a
safer mount and dismount.
•
Fill out and mail the limited warranty card. Be sure that the EFX is turned OFF. The
serial number is printed on a label located on the rear cover near the power
receptacle.
Write the serial number onto the Precor limited warranty card found on
the back cover of this manual. Refer to
Obtaining Service on page 9 and write the
number there as well.
•
Use the appropriate voltage and grounding as specified on the EFX. The unit is
available in a 120-volt model. Refer to the unit’s identification label to determine the
voltage that is required.
Assembly Instructions
Take the following steps to assemble the EFX. To assist you in the assembly, the
items in the Hardware kit, shown in Diagram 3, correspond to a particular letter in
the alphabet. These letters appear throughout the assembly instructions. Refer to
Diagram 3 as needed.
1.
Obtain assistance. Ask for assistance to help assemble the EFX. Place the
shipping carton close to the location where you plan to use the unit. Breakdown the
side walls of the shipping carton so that they lie flat. Remove the loose contents.
2.
Make sure that the power is OFF. Place the switch in the O (OFF) position.
Make sure that the unit is not plugged into a power source.
3.
Remove the EFX from the box. Cut any tie wraps that hold the EFX to its
shipping container. Sort through the packing materials.
4.
Move the unit to the location where you plan to use it. When fully assembled,
the EFX
®
5.21i is heavy and difficult to move. To avoid injury or damage to the
unit, ask for help in placing the EFX where you plan to use it.

CAUTION: Do not remove or otherwise
bypass the 3-prong plug with an adapter or
extension cord in order to use a non-

improper power source.

the unit is too wide to fit through a standard
32-inch door frame.
