INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the NEW Power Probe III (PP3). The PP3 is our most revolutionary
circuit tester to date. The PP3 literally speeds you through the diagnosing of 12 to 42 volt auto-
motive electrical systems. After connecting the PP3’s clips to the vehicle’s battery, the automo-
tive technician can determine at a glance, the voltage level and the polarity of a circuit without
running for a voltmeter or reconnecting hook-up clips from one battery pole to the other. The
power switch allows the automotive technician to conduct a positive or negative battery current
to the tip for activating and testing the function of electrical components without wasting time
with jumper leads. And yes, the PP3 is short circuit protected. It tests for bad ground contacts
instantly without performing voltage drop tests. It allows you to follow and locate short circuits
without wasting precious fuses. The Power Probe can also test for continuity with the assistance
of its auxiliary ground lead. With a flip of the power switch, you will know at a glance that your
PP3 is functioning without running to the battery as you would otherwise have to do with simple
test lights. The PP3’s long cable allows you to test along the entire length of the vehicle without
constantly searching for ground hook-ups. An absolute must for every automotive technician
looking for a fast and accurate solution to electrical systems diagnostics.
Before using the Power Probe III please read the instruction booklet carefully.
Warning!
When the Power Probe III’s switch is depressed battery current/voltage is conducted directly
to the tip which may cause sparks when contacting ground or certain circuits. Therefore the Power Probe
should NOT be used around flammables such as gasoline or its vapors. The spark of an energized Power
Probe could ignite these vapors. Use the same caution as you would when using an arc welder.
The Power Probe III and the ECT 2000 are NOT to be used with 110/220-volt home electrical,
it is only for use with 12-42-volt systems.

Gracias por comprar el Nuevo Power Probe III (PP3). El PP3 es el probador de circuitos más revolucio-
nario hoy dia. El PP3 literalmente aligerara su diagnóstico en sistemas eléctricos automotrices de 12 - 42
voltios. Después de conectar los sujetadores (grapas/presillas) del PP3 a la batería del vehículo, el técnico
automotriz podrá determinar de un vistazo, el nivel de voltaje y la polaridad de un circuito sin correr a
buscar un voltímetro o reconectar los sujetadores (grapas/presillas) de un polo de la batería al otro. El inter-
ruptor de energía permite al técnico automotriz aplicar corriente positiva o negativa a través de su punta,
para energizar y comprobar la función de componentes eléctricos sin malgastar tiempo utilizando cables
de empalme. Y sí, el PP3 esta protegido en circuitos en corto. Instantáneamente comprueba contactos
defectuosos (fallido) a tierra (masa) sin realizar pruebas de caída de voltaje. Le permite rastrear y localizar
circuitos en corto sin malgastar valiosos fusibles. El Power Probe también puede comprobar continuidad
con la asistencia de su cable auxiliar de tierra (masa). Con un movimiento del interruptor de energía, sabrá
de un vistazo que su PP3 esta funcionando sin correr a la batería como usualmente debe hacerlo cuando
utiliza un probador de luz simple. El cable largo del PP3 le permitirá hacer pruebas a lo largo del vehículo
sin necesidad de estar constantemente buscando conectar a tierra (masa). Absolutamente imprescindible
para cada técnico automotriz que busca una solución rápida y precisa para el diagnóstico de sistemas
eléctricos.

¡ADVERTENCIA!
Cuando se oprime el interruptor de energía del Power Probe III, corriente/voltaje es
conducida directamente a su punta, lo cuál puede causar una chispa al entrar en contacto con tierra (masa)
o ciertos otros componentes. Así que el Power Probe NO DEBE ser utilizado alrededor de inflamables tales
como gasolina o sus vapores. La chispa de un Power Probe energizado puede causar el encendido de estos
vapores. Use la misma precaución que se utiliza al trabajar con equipo de soldadura de arco.
El Power Probe III y el ECT 2000 NO deben ser utilizados en circuitos eléctricos residencia-
les de 100/220. Se utiliza únicamente en sistemas con voltajes entre 12 - 42 voltios.
SUGERENCIA IMPORTANTE:
Cuando active componentes, puede aumentar la vida útil del interruptor de
energía de su Power Probe, accionando el interruptor y procediendo a hacer contacto entre la punta y el componente. El
arco eléctrico tomara lugar en la punta en vez de en los contactos del interruptor.
