FW-100TX
This chapter describes how to install the driver for each Linux distribution.
For the latest information on compatibility with Linux, see our web site

Installing the FW-100TX on a system preinstalled with
RedHatLinux5.2
1. Install the FW-100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter on your PC, and start
RedHatLinux5.2.
2. Set the supplied driver disk to the floppy drive, and mount the drive.
mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
3. Copy rtl8139.c and trans in /mnt/floppy/linux to a directory (ex. /temp)
cp /mnt/floppy/linux/rtl8139.c /tmp
cp /mnt/floppy/linux/trans /tmp
4. Move to the target directory (in the example above, the "tmp" directory),
and enable permission for "trans" and execute "trans".
cd / tmp
chmod 777 trans
trans
5. Edit /etc/conf.modules using vi (or another editor) to add "alias eth0
rtl8139" statement.
vi /etc/conf.modules

4. Select "FW-100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter" from the network adapter list
and click on the "Delete" button.
5. A warning screen appears before deleting. Click on the "Yes" button to
continue.
6. Click on the "Close" button.
7. Select "OK" to restart the computer.
