Setting the unit
The unit comes supplied with parameters already set.
Once the braking current I
B
and the braking time t
B
have been set, the unit
can be operated easily.
CAUTION!
Only change the parameters in exceptional circumstances. Improper
settings can lead to the unit being damaged. Settings are password-
protected.
Set the braking current I
B
so that it does not exceed twice the motor’s
nominal current. Select the braking time t
B
so that the braking process is
ended after motor standstill has been achieved. This prevents damage
from overheating. We recommend the switch-on current is checked when
the brake contactor energises (see peak current display).
Operation
The unit has 4 operator keys
(ESC, ENTER, arrow keys UP and DOWN).
The input and display menus appear on the LCD display. Their structure
has several levels (see front and back inside covers).
ESC
back to master menu;
exit input mode without saving
ENTER
to sub-menus;
switch to the input mode ;
confirm input
UP, DOWN (arrow) switch between menus at the same level;
increase, decrease set value
In menus which contain values that can be changed, switch to input mode
by pressing ENTER (cursor flashes). Using the arrow keys, increase or
decrease the value. Using ESC, exit from the input mode without saving
the changed value, i.e. by switching the control voltage off and back on;
the previous value will still be valid. By pressing ENTER, the set value is
saved (retentive) in the internal EEPROM.
If you press the ESC key and one of the arrow keys simultaneously the
contrast setting for the LCD changes.
If you press the ESC and ENTER keys simultaneously and switch on the
supply voltage, all parameters are reset to ex-works status.
The start display appears when the supply voltage is switched on.
