Removing the crankshaft bearings
The bearings can stay on either the crankcase half
or the crankshaft.
- Using the special tool, remove any bearings that
have been left on the crankshaft
- Fit the half-rings between the bearing and the
crankshaft using a hammer with resin heads.
Specific tooling
004499Y001 Bell for bearing extractor
004499Y002 Bearing extractor screw
004499Y006 Ring for bearing extractor
004499Y007 Half-rings
- Fit the tool and remove the crankshaft bearings.
If the main bearings are housed in the half-cranks,
proceed as follows:
- Remove the oil seals.
- Using a specific tool, remove any bearings left in
the transmission side half-crankcase.
