The picture below shows how to connect two 5VDC stepper motors to the DOUT header and to use the
auxiliary power supply input to drive them. In this case, and external 5VDC power supply is attached to
terminals 6 and 7 of the Extended Functions connector. When connected in this manner, a power supply is not
required for the Raspberry Pi. The power terminals for the motors attach to the flyback protection input, which
