Contracture
Definition:
Loss of motion in a joint due to the shortening of soft tissue
Goal of
treatment:
Physiological joint motion and muscle length
Favourable
combinations:
Physical therapy, electrotherapy, ultrasonic therapy, heat therapy, ice treatment,
however not in case of aversion to cold (rheumatoid-arthritis).
