This chapter shows you how to install and configure
the P430 software drivers for Solaris. Installation follows
standard Solaris procedures; if you have any questions
about installation, please refer to your Solaris
documentation.
The P430 NIC should already be physically installed
in your machine, and Solaris should be up and running.
Use the installation disk (CD-ROM) that came with
your P430.

Login as root or use the SU command to
become root.

If you do not know the root password for the
system, contact your system administrator.

If the machine is already on and is logged in as
a user, use the steps below to gain access to the
root account:
Use the 'su' command to login as root
su [ENTER]
The system will then request the root password.
