5. Adjust the
Sensitivity
slider to indicate how much of a block must change from one frame to the next for it to
be considered in the
Number of Blocks
equation. For example, if you chose a sensitivity of 30%, only 30
percent of a block would have to change for it to be considered part of a motion event. Thus, if you adjusted
the
Number of Blocks
slider to 10 of 20, at least 30 percent of at least 10 of the 20 blocks would have to
change for a frame to be displayed during playback.
6. Click
Search
. The first frame in which the defined number of blocks change the minimum amount is
displayed. If you begin a
SmartSearch
in the middle of the video segment, the
SmartSearch
finds the next
valid motion event; it doesn't begin the search at the beginning of the segment.
After you find a valid motion event, continue playing the video from that point or click
Search
again to jump to the
next frame that meets the defined parameters.
Exporting Individual Images
To export
recorded video images
to other locations on your system, complete the following steps:
1. Click on the search result that contains the image you want to export so that it is displayed in the view screen.
2. Play back the video segment until you locate the image you want to export.
3. Click
Export
. The
Save As
window appears.
4. Make sure
Bitmap
(*.bmp) is selected in the
Save As Type
field. Choose a location and type a
File Name
.
Click
Save
when you are finished.
The image is now saved in the location you specified. You can also copy a file to the clipboard by choosing
Copy
from the
Edit
menu.
Exporting Video Segments
To export
video segments
to other locations on your system, complete the following steps:
1. Make sure the proper scale level is selected before you export the video. When you export video, it is saved in
the scale level currently chosen for the video, and you will not be able to enhance it.
2. Click on the search result you want to export so that it is displayed in the view screen.
3. Click
Export
. The
Save As
window appears.
4. Select a video type—XPress file (*.xpv) or Windows AVI file (*.avi)—in the
Save As Type
field. Choose a
location, type a filename, and click
Save
.
5. If you choose
AVI
, you must enter a video compression codec and quality.
Full Frames
saves uncompressed
images; other codec options must match the codec installed on your system. For each codec option, you can
click on
Configure...
to access compression options specific to that codec.
The video segment is now saved in the location you specified.
