3.4 Sectioning movement
Operating instructions
The slide can be blocked in the back, middle and front
positions by pulling out the locking lever on the knife slide.
This device should be used when handling the knife/
microtome blade holder and/or object in order to reduce
the danger of injury.
WARNING
Caution! Operation of the locking lever is possible
outside the front, middle and rear end positions,
however, the slide is not solidly blocked, only
lightly positioned.

The sectioning movement of the microtome is created by
moving the knife slide horizontally using the handle.
3.5 Setting the section thickness
Scale wheel

The required section thickness is adjusted by turning the
scale wheel on the left at the back of the microtome. The
setting clearly latches and the selected section thickness
value is displayed on the scale.
Pre-selectable section thicknesses range from
0 μm to 40 μm, as follows:
0 μm – 10 μm in 0.5 μm steps
10 μm – 40 μm in 5 μm steps
