MODE
OPERATION
1.
For "onestep" reprogramming of preset radio station
pushbuttons:
a. Tune in desired station.
b. Push and hold desired pushbutton
1-5.
After
1
sec-
onds, an audible "beep" will sound and the set station
will be automatically "memorized:'
c.
5 FM and 5 AM stations can thusly be "memorized:'
d. The
LED on the pushbunon pressed will exhibit a red/
orange color
to distinguish it from the others.
Medium to high strength radio stations can be listened
to
for seven seconds in the "scan mode" as follows:
a. Up-scale, press the volume control

SCAN
b. Down-scale, press
" >
tune" and then the volume
control.
To stop scanning when the desired station is reached,
press the volume control again during the seven second
pause.
3.
SEEK
The radio will automatically tune to the next station of
sufficient strength if the "seek
buttons"
in either the
">"
(upscale) or
"<"
(downscale) directions are pressed.
FM signals reflect off or are blocked by hills, tall build-
ings, etc. Therefore, occasional hissing and fluttering
noises can result. FM signal strength diminishes rapidly
after
25 miles from the transmitter.
AM
RECEPTION
AM signals are reflected by the ionosphere and bend
around obstacles. They are affected by weather and the
time of day. It is not unusual to receive stations at night
from several hundred miles away. These strong different
signals can therefore affect the "SEEK" and "SCAN"
functions at night
