Internal Connectors

PTMC Connectors

There are two PTMC slots available, PTMC A and PTMC B. See

Figure 5-3, “PTMC Slot and

Connector Locations,” on page 84

. The default location for a single populated mezzanine card

is the PTMC A slot. PTMC A is designated by connectors J21- J24, which equate to the PTMC
2.15 specification pin mapping J1-J4 respectively. PTMC B is designated by connectors J11-
J14, which equate to the PTMC 2.15 specification pin mapping J1-J4 respectively. Both sets of
PTMC connectors carry all of the appropriate signals for the required operation of PTMC
Configuration 2, which is comprised of TDM and RMII on J3 and user defined I/O on J4 pined.
The J4 user I/O is pin mapped for PTMC Configuration 5 and is mapped for 10/100/1G
Ethernet. See

Table 5-4, “Generic Signals on PTMC J11/J21 and J12/J23 Connectors,”

below.

The local PCI interface signals to the PTMC slots originate from the secondary PCI bus. A PCI
bus controller is provided by a PLX PCI6254 dual PCI bridge. The CPC324 acts as the host
processor and operates with PTMC mezzanine and PMC Processor cards configured as non-
monarchs. The CPC324 supports one load per PTMC slot but does not support optional
second PCI agents.
