7. Troubleshooting
PROBLEM
SOLUTION
No power
Reposition or replace batteries.
Message does not
arrive
- Make sure the PTT button is completely pressed as you're transmitting.
- Reposition or replace batteries.
- Verify whether the units have the same channel settings.
- Make sure the PTT button is not being pressed inadvertently.
- Something is interfering. Change your location.
- Check to make sure the volume is loud enough.
Other conversation or
noise on a channel
Shared channel ; try another one.
Limited talk range
Operation in steel or concrete structures will decrease range. Check for clear line of signal to improve transmission.
Wearing the radio close to your body will decrease the range. Change the location of the radio.
Heavy static or
interference
- The 2 PMRs are too close ; they must be at least 15 feet apart. Increase the distance.
- The 2 PMRs are too far apart or obstacles are interfering with the transmission. The talk range is up to 2 miles in
clear, unobstructed conditions.
