•  There must be no lateral play.

•  The play in the cutting direction must be tactile.

To obtain this play:

•  Perform these operations with the blade open, with the switch in position

«0»

.

•  Tighten adjustment nut

23

 until knurled adjusting washer

22

 no longer turns.

•  Loosen adjustment nut

23

 by a quarter turn.

•  Check the tightness of the blade:

  The knurled washer

22

must turn with the blade open.

  The knurled washer

22

must not turn with the blade closed.

•  Re-adjust the tightness if necessary using the adjustment nut

23

 with the adjustment wrench.

•  Excessive tightening can cause incorrect operation, incorrect cutting at the blade tip and reduced

endurance of the battery.

SHARPENING

TIGHTENING THE BLADE

This operation is essential because it determines the cutting quality and the service life of the blades, the

mechanical components and the endurance of the battery. Sharpening frequency depends of course on the

wood that is cut (hardness and diameter), the pruning rate and the sharpening tool (a special stone

09

 is

provided). Therefore, during the first days of use, the condition of the blade cutting edge must be checked

regularly in order to maintain the edge by resharpening it little but often (a check every quarter of an hour

will quickly give you an idea of this frequency).

IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMOVE THE BURR FROM THE BLADE CUTTING EDGE AND TO PERFORM

THE FIRST SHARPENING OPERATION AFTER THE FIRST 15 MINUTES.
