Features of the GPS Module
The GPS icon in the symbol bar of the display represents the strength of the GPS reception as shown below:

Setting the time via GPS
When the GPS module contacts the global satellite system for the first time, the PTCarPhone receives the UTC
time and, if the time was not set up, manually or by receiving a text message (SMS), is shown on the display. The
difference between the received UTC time and the time setting is stored on the PTCarPhone and applied at the
next start-up.
The second handset
With the second handset, which is offered as an accessory, calls can be forwarded from one handset to the other.

When both handsets are connected, software updates will be applied to both handsets.
Use the function key
Change
to forward a call from one handset to the next. The forwarded call will be an-
nounced on the other handset by a tone signal and needs to be accepted by pressing the function key

The handset not in use is switched to inactive mode during a call. On the display the message “occupied” ap-
pears. Both handsets can be used for phone calls, just not in the time.
The handset which is plugged into the socket on the electronics box marked with “I” is connected to the
hands-free system.
SMS are displayed on both handsets.
Using the PTCarPhone as a Modem
Devices with UMTS module can be used as modem for a internet connection. For this purpose, the USB interface
needs to be set to “Modem”, see also “Configuration of the USB Interface” on page
19 .
