ii. Glands and blanking plugs shall be suitably-certified and fitted with a suitable
sealing washer so as to maintain the IP66 ingress protection of the enclosure.
iii. If the equipment is likely to come into contact with aggressive substances (e.g.
acidic liquids or gases that may attack metals, or solvents that may affect
polymeric materials relied upon for sealing), then it is the responsibility of the
user to take suitable precautions that prevent it from being adversely affected,
thus ensuring that the type of protection (notably IP66 ingress protection) is not
compromised.
iv. The enclosure shall be mounted such that the breather vent is on the underside of
the enclosure. If this is not possible, the breather shall be otherwise protected
from mechanical impact. Damaged breathers shall be replaced immediately and
a suitable sealing washer shall be fitted.
v. Torque settings for the terminal screws of the connectors: 0.22 to 0.25Nm
