Attention: Considerably loud volume levels can occur, especially when the sensor is moved, which can potentially lead to hearing damage. Before positioning the
vibration transducer always reduce the volume level or remove the headphones.

13. Connection to a PC
The PCE-VM 25 has a USB port. For connection to a PC the VM2x USB cable is provided (Figure 46), which is connected to the 8 pin socket on the PCE-VM 25.
Switch the instrument off before connecting it to the PC.

Connect the other end of the cable to a USB port of the computer and switch the PCE-VM 25 on again. If the instrument is being connected with a particular computer
for the first time, a driver installation will be necessary.
The driver can be found on our website: https://www.pce-instruments.com/english/software-and-driver-download-win_4.htm
Unpack and save both data files in a directory on your computer. When Windows requests details of the source of the device driver, this directory should be entered.
The device driver is digitally signed and runs with Windows.
14. Firmware Update
The instrument software (Firmware) can be updated via the USB port. First of all, check whether a more up-to-date version than currently installed is available. To view
the latest version visit our ‚Software Download‘ site: https://www.pce-instruments.com/english/software-and-driver-download-win_4.htm
Here you will see the most recent firmware version available. The version number is composed of three digits for the hardware and three for the software (hhh.sss).
Only the last three digits are relevant for the firmware. The version currently installed in your instrument is displayed on the start screen.
