OPERATION
a) Before starting the machine, look
into the intake opening to make
certain that it is empty.
b) Keep your face and body away
from the intake opening.
c) Wear protective gloves, sturdy
shoes and long trousers.
d) Do not allow hands or any other
part of the body or clothing inside
the intake opening, discharge
chute, or near any moving part.
e) During operation, do not reach
into the intake opening. The ma-
chine runs on for a few seconds
after being switched off.
f) If the cutting mechanism strikes
any foreign objects or if the ma-
chine should start making any
unusual noise or vibration, im-
mediately switch off and allow
the machine to stop. Remove the
plug from the mains supply and
take the following steps:
- Inspect for damage.
- Check for and tighten any loose
parts.
- Replace or repair damaged
parts with original components
if necessary.
g) Keep proper balance and footing
at all times. Do not overreach.
Never stand at a higher level than
the base of the machine when
feeding material.
h) Keep extension cords away from
the shredding means. The shred-

to the cords and lead to contact
with live parts.
i) Always stand clear of the dis-
charge zone when operating the
machine.
j) If the machine becomes clogged,
switch off and allow the cutter to
stop. Remove the plug from the
mains supply before clearing de-

running.
m) Never transport, pick up or carry
the machine while the motor is
running.
n) Switch off, allow the cutter to
stop and remove the plug from
the mains supply whenever you
leave the work area.
o) Do not allow processed mate-
rial to build up in the discharge
zone; this may prevent proper
discharge and can result in kick-
back of material through the in-
take opening.
p) Do not force the appliance. It is
working safer and better at the
intended workload range.
q) Do not run over, crush or pull the
extension cable, otherwise it may
be damaged. Protect the cable
from heat, oil, heavy load and
sharp edges.
r) Do not use the machine in the
rain, during danger of lightning or
leave it outdoors when it is rain-
