During the ordinary application these operations are carried out by the conductor or the responsible technician for the
vehicle. See 1.3.

Stopping and choice between three working speeds occurs by the command for switch C (position «0» = stop, «1» = minimum
speed, «2» = mean speed, «3» = maximum speed), according to 5.1.
A built in pilot light comes on when the appliance is working.
The air stream direction from outside (intake) towards inside or opposite (ejection) is commanded by the inverter I (position
«I»/«II» = ejection/intake).

Avoid exposition to direct spraying or direct jets through the inner grill or the external air intake, also avoid
penetration of solid material.

Avoid working if battery of the vehicle is in bad conditions or is partially run-down.

Commanding the inverter when aerator is working is prohibited. Aerator must be previously stopped by putting
switch C in position «0», attending fan to stop before operating again the inverter.

The access to the aerator body outside the vehicle, as well as disassembly of the protection plate and the carter
(Fig.3 ) are prohibited during the ordinary application.

6.2

 CLEANING

AND

MAINTENANCE

Operations for extraordinary maintenance and disassembly, installation, repair of the appliance, must be carried out
by professional personnel as under 4, authorized by the vehicle’s supplier.

Manipulation by the user, except operating and ordinary maintenance, is prohibited.  Manipulation of the motor unit
(Fig. 3) is prohibited, which must be returned directly to the manufacturer for repair, or replaced by an appropriate
spare part.

Access to the fan unit from outside (vehicle roof), if not safely stopped (6.1)  is prohibited.

6.2.1 ORDINARY

MAINTENANCE

Integrity and working of the appliance must be checked at least during every servicing, by:
-

Functional test on all levels according to 6.1.

-

Working order check of switch commands I and C and of the pilot light.

-

Visual inspection of the appliance from inside and of the outer parts. Removal of occlusions at the air intake.

-

Working order check of mobile parts (fans and fins) and of their free movement.

-

Check of working order and state of air filter (Fig. 3), cleaning or replacement in case of damage.  Cleaning has to be
carried out by air jet.

-

Check of dust layers or other traces inside the aerator or on its surface, and cleaning if necessary.

For inside check/cleaning and filter replacement remove the outer case (see Fig. 3). Proceed with cleaning by air jet at low
pression or with vacuum cleaner, and/or remove alien objects and substances. In order to replace filter, extract it from its seat
and replace with another identical (1.3).
Its external and internal surfaces can be cleaned with a wet cloth.

The user must warrant security for the access to the roof of the vehicle, according to the use of means and procedures
indicated by the internal document for risk management, according to the law and/or local regulations.

During cleaning and access to the inner parts of the aerator it must be ensured that switch C is on «0» position and
keeps it during the entire operation.

Make sure that the aerator is orderly and particularly re-established within all terms of integrity, once finished the
operation, by correct re-assembly of all parts as in Fig. 3. Eventually check all working orders and functions
according to 4.

6.2.2 EXTRAORDINARY

MAINTENANCE

In case of:
-

Damage of the aerator and its controls.

-

Irregular working order or failing function.

-

Inefficiency of the control devices.

If revision as per 6.2.1 is proved inadequate, it is necessary to:
-

Insulate power supply of the aerator by removal of the general fuse as 4.2.

-

Request service according to 1.3.

7.

DISPOSAL

7.1

DISPOSAL OF COMPONENTS AND MATERIALS

The plastic parts and electromechanical components of the appliance are special waste and must be disposed of in compliance
with local disposal regulations.
