4.2.2 User Accounts
The
FTIR3
analysis software has two levels of account access. The “Admin” level is able to add
and remove oil types, messages and warnings, and create new accounts. “User”-level accounts are
restricted to running programs and oil types that are already installed.
Select the
icon from the Advanced Options screen, and click on the “Users” tab (Figure 4-5).
Enter the required information and access level.

4.3 Sampling Cell
For optimum performance, it is recommended to visually inspect the sampling cell periodically for
contamination or internal deposits. This can be done by simply holding up to the light and looking
through the window.
The sampling cell may be cleaned by flushing through several times with cleaning fluid, as described
during the analysis procedure. Do not dismantle the sampling cell.
4.4 Desiccant
The
FTIR3 Oil Analyzer
is supplied with desiccant sachets which will need to be replaced periodically.
This may be once a year, depending on ambient conditions.
To replace the desiccant:
• Unscrew the 4 Torx screws at the back of the instrument using the screwdriver provided and remove
the panel.
• Remove the old sachets.
• Open the foil packet and insert the new sachets.
• Replace the rear panel and screws.
• The used desiccant sachets may be recycled by putting in an oven at 150°C for two hours. Keep in a
sealed container after drying and before reuse to prevent degradation.
