2.3.4 Sampling Cell
Important:
The sampling cell must be kept clean for consistent results. Follow all instructions
for flushing with cleaning fluid and visually inspect regularly to check whether extra cleaning is
required.
Figure 2-3
During factory calibration, each sampling cell is paired with its
FTIR3 Oil Analyzer
unit to ensure
that the exact optical pathlength is included in the analytical calculations. For this reason, it is not
recommended to use different sampling cells or interchange between units.
Do not dismantle the sampling cell without first consulting your Service Engineer. This will alter
the optical pathlength and may invalidate future analysis.
The sampling cell has been designed to be robust and as such, breakage of the Zinc Selenide (ZnSe)
windows during ordinary usage is not expected. However, in the event of a breakage, contain all
fragments and contact your Service Engineer.
Note: Zinc Selenide fragments are harmful when ingested.
