ASCII Alarm Messages
The following messages are sent to an ASCII terminal/printer when the ASCII
Alarm Messages configuration option is set to COM Port ( Path: main/config/
alarm), or when the async terminal is inactive (logged off). When set, an alarm is
sent at the start of an alarm condition. An Alarm Cleared message is sent when
the alarm condition no longer exists.
NOTE:
When more than one alarm condition is detected, only the highest priority
message will be sent; other alarm conditions could exist.
Example:
When A No Signal (NS) condition has been detected on the DDS
Network Interface
message is reported, you could have a Frame Relay
Logical Link and/or DLCI Number is down condition, as well.
All messages in the following table are listed in order of priority. Each message is
preceded by the name of the access unit ( Device Name), up to 20 characters
( Path: main/control/device name).

followed by the period of
time that the condition
has existed.
1. Check for a cross-pair
condition.
2. Verify that the network cable is
securely attached at both ends
of the access unit identified.
3. Contact network provider.
Alarm Cleared. The No
Signal (NS) condition at
the DDS Network
Interface.
Alarm condition no
longer exists.
