1862 VoIP IAD User’s Guide 

 

 

Chapter 9 

Software Upgrade via FTP 

Follow the steps below to upgrade the firmware version of the IAD via FTP. The procedures 
below will use LAN port IP address 192.168.1.1 for illustration. 

STEP 1:

 Connect the IAD to a PC using the LAN cable. Set the PC to the same subnet as the 

IAD (192.168.1.1). 

STEP 2:

 Start DOS and enter the menu where the new firmware is installed: 

Example: C:\Upgrade 

STEP 3:

 Enter the command: ftp 192.168.1.1 (IAD’s IP address)  

  

 

STEP 4:

 At the USER prompt type 

root 

(small case) 

 

 

 

  

STEP 5:

 At the Password prompt type 

1234

  

 

 

STEP 6:

 After you see the message User Logged in, type: 

Bin  

 

 

STEP 7:

 After you see the message Type set to I, type: 

hash 

 

 

STEP 8:

 After you see the message Hash mark printing, type: 

put <filename.bin> app
