  Cleaning and Maintenance

HSL-32 Hibachi Griddle Operator Manual

STEAM will burn you! Use a long-handled scraper, or wear grill gloves

for cleaning.
DO NOT flood a hot cooking surface with cold water – doing so may

cause the griddle to warp or crack

3.

Use a flat bladed scraper to loosen cooked on remnants, and move all to the drip tray

4.

Repeat until all residue is removed

5.

Ensure all water and residue is removed; wipe the griddle dry with a clean cloth

6.

Apply 2 tablespoons of canola oil to surface and spread across all as a protective layer

7.

Turn the burners off, let the griddle cool, and cover with the hood; the use of a cover is

recommended

Over time grease may build up. Use an approved stainless-steel cleaner to remove grease build up, then

rinse with clean water. For best results and longevity, annually have a professional barbecue cleaning

company detail the griddle.

Clean the Drip Tray

The drip tray should be emptied and cleaned after each use. Failure to do so could result in a fire. When the

griddle has cooled, remove the drip tray by pulling it straight out from the griddle.

NOTE

: If you’ve done extensive cooking and cleaned the griddle, the drip tray may be close to full.

Take care when removing and carrying it to avoid spills.

Empty the drip tray into an appropriate location or container. Clean the drip tray with a clean cloth and hot

soapy water, or an oven-style cleaning product. Dry the tray and replace, ensuring it is completely installed

in the griddle housing.
When using an oven-style cleaning product, follow the product’s instructions. Many such cleaners are toxic

and can damage the stainless-steel finish if not used properly.
If the griddle was uncovered during rain, check the drip tray to drain any standing water.

vapors and liquids
