Commissioning
Before commissioning, carefully read and observe this manual and the safety instructions in chapter
Before switching on, make sure that
•
the cutter is firmly and securely clamped,
•
the machine table and fence are clean and free of objects,
•
the guards are fitted in accordance with regulations,
•
the extraction system is connected and in good working order
•
and the direction of rotation is selected to suit the tool and work process.
10.1
Switching ON and OFF
The machine is switched on and off via the main switch (

) on
the right-hand side of the machine:
Switching ON
→
Turn the main switch to position “
I
”
Switching OFF
→
Turn the main switch to position “
”
If the milling spindle is started without a
cutter, all the milling arbor rings and the
clamping screw must be fitted and tight-
ened.

After switching on the main switch (1), the speed set according to the V-belt position is indicated via the re-
spective signal lamp (
D
), see
Figure 13. The speed setting is made according to chapter
10.2
Rotational Direction Switch
The spindle direction of rotation is specified via the turn
switch (
R
) on the control panel:
Conventional milling
→
Turn switch (
R
) to the left
(anticlockwise rotation, switchover only at standstill).
Climb milling
→
Press in switch (
R
) and turn to the right
(clockwise rotation, switchover only at standstill).
Avoid climb milling, as this considerably
increases the risk of accidents!

10.3
Switching the Spindle ON and OFF

To start the spindle, the main switch (1) must be turned on (position “
I
”).
•
Set the desired speed according to chapter
•
Switching ON:

on the switch (

→
The milling cutter is set in rotation with the preselected speed and direction of rotation.
Do not start working until the machine has reached full speed (after approx. 10 s).
•
Switching OFF:
Press “

on the switch (

)
→
The milling cutter is switched off and brought to standstill (braking time < 10 s).
