10. MPC2000 Communications
The MPC2000 in addition to its very comprehensive protection has been equiped with a very powerful data
communications system. The relay provides high speed data acquisition to supervisory computers to form a complete
motor management system. Each MPC2000 can be connected to an isolated data highway using RS485
communications. Up to 32 MPC2000 units can be connected to each data highway.
For futher information on the communication of the MPC2000 phone us for our booklet at
either Crawley 01293-524204 or Manchester 0161-230-6363.
11. MPC2000 PC Software
11.1 MPCSET Software
.
All of the MPC2000 setting parameters mentioned above can be viewed and changed through the use of the MPCSET
Software offered by P & B Engineering. It is designed to configure large numbers of units quickly as well as storing
and printing the MPC2000 setting parameters.
For futher information on the communication of the MPC2000 phone us for our booklet at Manchester 0161-230-
6363.
11.2. MPC2000 Engineering PC Software
The Engineering Workstation Package offered for the control and monitoring of the P & B Engineering Co. MPC2000
Motor Protection Controller is based on the P-CIM Process Monitoring & Control software package.
For futher information on the MPC2000 Engineering PC Software phone us for our booklet at Manchester 0161-

12. MPC2000 Flash/Constant Messages
The following Flash and Constant messages are displayed by the MPC2000 LCD :
DATA SAVED OK
This Flash message is displayed after a setting parameter has been correctly
stored to the EEPROM memory
WRONG DATA SAVED
This Flash message is displayed if an error has occurred in attempting to save a setting
parameter to the EEPROM memory.
WRONG PARAMETERS
This message is displayed after power up if the EEPROM parameter check sum is
found to be incorrect. This may occur if installing a new EEPROM in the MPC2000.
UNAUTHORISED ACCESS
If an attempt is made to change or store a setting parameter whilst the Authorise
input is open this Flash message is displayed. This message will also be displayed if an attempt is made to
reset a fault for which the panel reset has been disabled.
RESET THERMAL CAPACITY ???
This Flash message is displayed when the reset key is pressed with the
Authorised input closed and if the reset button is pressed again whilst the message is displayed, the Thermal
Capacity will be re-set to Zero.
THERMAL CAPACITY RESET PERFORMED
This Flash message is displayed after the above
operation has been successfully performed.
