PERIODIC INSPECTION
When carrying out maintenance/inspection, be sure to turn off the switch of the switch box
and confirm safety, except when you need to inspect during power-on. Otherwise, it may lead
to a serious accident affecting safety of the human body, such as an electric shock, burn,
etc.
Implementation of only daily Inspection is not enough to maintain the performance of this
machine for many years. In periodic inspection, you are required to make an elaborate check
in details, including internal inspection and cleaning of the welding power source. Carry out
periodic inspection every 6 months in general: if the work site is full of fine dust and oil
mist and the welding per source is likely to suck them in, carry it out every 3 months.
The following lists the standard inspection items. Add your peculiar inspection items depending
on your usage of the machine.
Elimination of Dust in the Welding Power Source
Remove the top plate and both side plates of the welding power source. Using moisture-free
compressed air(dry air), blow off dust accumulated in the welding power source .
Removal of the top plate and side plates is shown on the following page.
Inspection of overall Welding Power Source and its Surroundings
Centering around checks for odor, discoloration, trace of heat generation. Loosened
internal connections, and retightening, check the items which daily inspection cannot
cover.
Cables
Check the output cable, input cable, and grounding terminal elaborately in details, as
to the inspection points mentioned in DAILY INSPECTION.
Maintenance/ Inspection of Consumable Parts
The electromagnetic contactor used in the main input circuit and the relay on the printed
circuit board use "contacts" respectively to make/break the circuit.
They both have specified lives electrically and mechanically.
These lives depend on the machine operating condition at customer's site and cannot be
precisely stated. In periodic inspection, assume that they are a kind of consumable parts.
For replacement
parts, be sure to use those purely designed for the PANASONIC welding
machines in order to maintain performance and functionality.
