receive digital video and audio from a set-top box, a DVD player, or other digital
devices. IC5003 converts the digital video to parallel analog Y, Pb, and Pr video
and outputs to the A-Board via pins 12, 14, and 16 of the connector DV1/A51.
IC5003 decodes the LPCM digital audio and outputs to IC5006.

IC5006 converts the digital audio input to left and right stereo analog signal and
outputs to the audio amplifier IC8036. The stereo signal then enters the audio
switch IC5008 for selection between HDMI and DVI input. The Analog Audio IN
jack is used for DVI audio input. The selected audio is output to the A-Board via
pins 2 and 4 of the connector DV1/A51.

Note:

If the external device has DVI output only, use a DVI to HDMI adaptor

cable to connect to the HDMI jack on the PTV. Also, connect the Audio

Out signal from the external device (set top box or DVD player) to the

Audio In jacks below the HDMI input. An HDMI-DVI conversion cable
(TY-SCH03DH) is available at the Panasonic parts department.

The HDCP (High-bandwidth digital content protection) circuit monitors the DVI
signal for copyright protection. The EDID EEPROM, IC5001, allows for external
control of the picture from the DVI source.

The HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) input is a port designed to
