LED Blinks Eight Times
The introduction of the digital tuner and the Cable module application has made it
necessary for Panasonic to install a fan in this CRT based projection TV. The fan
is installed to circulate the air and cool the unit.
Note:
The fan only works when there is a CableCard present in the unit.
1. First check that the rec ot operating in the service mode.
2. Insert the CableCARD (POD).
3. Please check that the fan on the back of the set is turned ON.

the fan is disconnected or defective, pin 3 of the connector H2 goes High to alert
the Main micro-controller IC1002. This DC voltage is input to the DG-Board via
pin A14 of the connector DG3. This causes the MPU to activate shutdown and
turn off the AC Relay RL801.

IMPORTANT:
If the fan is disconnected accidentally, damaged and does not tu
ON when the module is inserted, the PTV will automatically be set in protection
mode and it will shut down. Connect the fan correctly or replace it with a new
one.
4. A sign on the screen with instructions should appear indicating that
the CableCARD has been inserted.
5. Check the current software version of the receiver by pressing the
following sequence rapidly on the front panel:
VOLUME UP
and
MENU
buttons at the same time, then
CHANNEL UP
and
MENU
buttons at the same time.
The fan runs at a constant speed. The Micro-controller (IC1002) monitors
operation of the fan. When the fan is operating pin 3 of the connector H2 is low. If
