Dish: bowl, 20 cm (8”) round flan dish,

Dish: bowl, 20 cm (8”) Soufflé dish base lined with

1. Place butter, syrup, treacle and sugar in a bowl and heat
on

power for 1-2 mins. or until fat has melted.
2. Place flours, spices, bicarbonate and salt in a large bowl.
Stir in treacle mixture and mix well. Stir in milk and eggs
and beat until smooth.
3. Pour into dish, place on glass turntable and cook on
MEDIUM
power for 8-9 mins. or until set around edges.
The cake will appear slightly wet in centre, but will
continue cooking as it cools.

1. Place chocolate and butter in a bowl, place on glass
turntable and cook on

chocolate has melted.
2. Stir in all other ingredients and beat well.
3. Pour into dish and cook on
MEDIUM
power for 6 mins. or
until just slightly sticky. Allow to cool and then cut into
squares.

150g (5oz) butter, softened
75g (3oz) caster sugar -
plus a little extra for sprin-

200g (7oz) plain flour,

Shortbread
1. Cut a piece of parchment to fit the glass turntable.
2. Place all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and combine
together until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
Knead into a soft dough.
3. Place the dough on the baking parchment, which has been
set on the glass turntable and shape dough into a
20cm (8 inch) circle.
4. Pinch around the edges of the circle, mark into 10-12
segments and prick all over with a fork.
5. Place turntable with shortbread on into the oven
6. Cook on
HIGH
power for 3-4 minutes, or until the short
bread is dry to the touch on the top, and just set in the
centre. Leave to cool slightly on the glass turntable.
7. Remove carefully from the oven, dust with caster sugar
and mark into sections. Cool completely before removing
from the glass turntable and breaking sections into pieces.
