3.3 Starting the Trunk Adaptor
3.3.1 Installation Procedure and Connection Diagrams
This section describes the installation procedure for connecting the Trunk Adaptor and KX-NS1000 PBX.
Requirements
Power supply: AC adaptor
Trunk Adaptor IP address: Static IP address
WARNING
When installing or testing a Trunk Adaptor with an external AC adaptor, the AC adaptor should be
plugged into a wall outlet or floor-mounted AC outlet. Do not connect the AC adaptor to a
ceiling-mounted AC outlet, as the weight of the adaptor may cause it to become disconnected.

Use only the optional AC adaptor KX-A239 for the Trunk Adaptor. For details about the optional AC
adaptor, refer to "2.1.2 Optional Equipment".
•
When receiving power using PoE, the AC adaptor is not necessary.
The installation process is as follows:
1.
Obtain the Trunk adaptor’s IP address from the network manager.
2.
Connect a PC to the Trunk Adaptor with a LAN cable. (See "4.2 PC Connection".)
3.
Connect an AC adaptor to the Trunk Adaptor ensuring that it is hooked as shown below.

Press and hold the System Initialise switch for more than one second before the SYSTEM LED stops
flashing. The system settings of the Trunk Adaptor will be returned to factory default settings.
5.
When the SYSTEM LED flashes green slowly, set the PC to static IP address mode, enter the Trunk
Adaptor’s IP address (default: 192.168.0.151) into the PC’s Web browser, and then login to the Trunk
Adaptor’s Web Maintenance Console. (See "4.4.1 Easy Setup Wizard".)
6.
Configure the Trunk Adaptor’s settings to specify the following. (See "4.4.2 Setting List".)

Static IP address for the Trunk Adaptor
•
SIP/H.323 connection parameters
–
SIP: ID & Password
–
H.323: Static IP address for KX-NS1000
•
PRI/E1 parameters
