If supported, you can update firmware on a device through BakPak. For example, with the Pakedge
RE-1 router, you may click Firmware in the device view to see available updates for the router. Click
Update
to update the firmware on the RE-1.

On a managed switch, Bakpak will display information about the VLAN port configuration. The
following image illustrates this.
Lava Tunnel
You can use the Lava tunnel feature to access a device monitored by BakPak without VPN or port
forwarding. The services include HTTP, HTTPS, Telnet, SSH, RDP, and much more. In the following
example, we will open a tunnel session to an S24P8 switch.
