The liquid formed in this way leaves the condenser under high
pressure.

The thermostatic expansion valve (11) sprays the cooling fluid into the
evaporator (10).

The cooling fluid in the evaporator absorbs the heat of the water and
evaporates. This is how the water is cooled and ice is formed.

The compressor (2) extracts the cooling gas out of the evaporator (10),
and the cycle starts again.
