Do not overtighten or strip the self-
drilling screws. The screws in the top
and bottom flanges should be used in
heavier gauge metal than screws in
cover angles.
6. Make sure the door closes and latches properly.
If not, loosen the screws, realign the pipe chase
and retighten the screws. Occasionally, the curb
under the pipe chase may be uneven, depending
on the installation.
Seal Pipe Chase to AHU
1. If the AHU is equipped with base rails, apply
caulking to all exterior joints between the pipe
chase, and the base rails as shown in
.

2. Add a small bead of Manus Bond, Loctite, or
Bostik champagne caulking to the exterior verti-
cal seam between the AHU and the pipe chase to
insure a complete seal as shown in
. Pay special attention to the top and
bottom corners, raceway and base rail engage-
ments, and under the roof overhang
.

3. Starting at the center and working toward each
end, run the self-drilling screws down through
the AHU overhang into the top of the pipe chase
through the gasket. Use caution not to strip the
20-gauge housing with the screws. Line up the
screws with a double row of screws on top of the
AHU raceway, plus one spaced evenly between
each screw as shown in
(No caulking required.)

Install Cover Angles
1. Install the cover angles before the caulking ap-
plied to the exterior joints and base rails dries.
2. Apply the neoprene gasket (P/N 028-11880-010)
to the contact side of the cover angle.
3. Remove the top and bottom self-drilling screws
from the pipe chase and set aside for later use.
4. Place the cover angles in the vertical corners of
the pipe chase and AHU wall.
