National Highway Traffic and Safety
Administration (NHTSA)
If you believe that your vehicle has a
defect, which could cause a crash or could
cause death or personal injury, you should
immediately inform the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in
addition to notifying the vehicle
manufacturer. If NHTSA receives similar
complaints, it may open an investigation,
and if it finds that a safety defect exists in a
group of vehicles, it may order a recall and
remedy campaign. However, NHTSA
cannot get involved in individual problems
between you, your dealer, and vehicle
manufacturer. Contacting NHTSA is
possible through telephone, written mail
and email. NHTSA also has a website
where you can input your comments
directly to them on the web. Please use
any of the four ways to contact NHTSA:
