CHAIN BRAKE:
This machine is equipped with an automatic brake to stop chain rotation if there is a
kickback during sawing. This brake can also be operated manually with the front cover
turned down to the blade. To release the brake, pull the front cover towards the front
lever until you hear a click.
Remember to check the brake function on a daily basis. Do this with the motor
switched off.
Hold the chain saw vertically, release the front lever, and allow the tip of the blade to
drop down on a tree stump and check that the chain brake is working.
If the brake is not working, it must be inspected and repaired if necessary.
If the motor continues to run at an excessive speed with the brake engaged, the
coupling will become hot and may cause problems.
If the brake is engaged during sawing, you must immediately release the throttle to
stop the motor.
STOPPING THE MOTOR:
Release the throttle to let the motor run at idle speed for a few minutes.
Set the switch to the "O" (STOP) position.
Sawing
Always follow the safety regulations. The chain saw may only be used to saw
wood. Cutting other types of material is forbidden. Vibrations and kickbacks
vary depending on the different materials and the safety regulation
requirements would not be observed. Do not use the chain saw as a lever to lift,
move or split objects. Do not block the saw.
