3. Adjust the distance between the router bit and
guide fence (18) by moving the guide to the
correct distance from the router bit and the cut
you are making.
4. Tighten the guide fence (18) locking knob (10) by
rotating clockwise (Fig. 12).
Note:
If the distance between the side of the work
piece and the cutting position is too wide, or the side
of the work piece is not straight firmly clamp a straight board to the work piece
and use this as a guide against the router base.
Warning!
Ensure the router fixing nut (12) is properly tightened and motor is
secured within the base. Failure to do so could cause material damage and
bodily harm if the motor comes out of the base while in operation.
Fitting the Template Guide
Fit the template guide (23) to the bottom of the
router so that the raised side will be facing the
bottom (work piece side) (Fig. 13).
Feed the screws supplied through the template guide
(23) and base of the router towards the motor and
secure with the 2 screws with two nuts provided.
Plunge Lock Lever
The plunge lock lever (11) must first be pushed up in
order to then change the position of plunge up or
down. Once the plunge depth (11) is set in the
required position press the lever down to lock the
plunge depth in place (Fig. 14).
The plunge lock lever (11) itself is adjustable. To place
the lever in a position with which you are more
comfortable, remove the screw, pull the lever out and
then replace it in the preferred position. Adjust and
retighten with the screw.
Setting the Speed
The router is provided with variable speed control (6)
to greatly increase the versatility of the tool. This can
be used to adjust the rotational speed of the bit to its
size and the material being worked on. The control is
located on the top face of the machine (Fig. 15).
Use higher speeds for small diameter router bits and
lower speed for larger diameter router bits.
