Depth Stop
Note:
Ensure that the depth stop (18) is adjusted to the correct height before
commencing operation.
The adjustable depth stop (18) is threaded into the base of the machine at the rear.
The travel of the cutting disc (7) can be controlled by raising and lowering the
depth stop bolt (18).
This feature is particularly useful to prevent contact with the work bench surface
when a new disc is fitted or to increase disc travel as the disc wears.
The depth stop (18) should be checked and adjusted everytime a new disc is fitted.
Loosen the depth stop lock nut with the 13mm side of the double ended spanner
(19) supplied.
Increase or decrease the height of the depth stop (Fig. 16).
Tighten the depth stop lock nut with the 13mm side of
the double ended spanner (19) supplied.
Cutting
Make all adjustments including setting the vice (14), fence (15) position and fence
(15) angle.
Ensure that the work piece is fully secured before starting metal cutting operations.
Caution:
Ensure you are wearing the appropriate safety gear including eye
protection and hearing protection.
Check that the cutting disc (7), upper guard (3), lower guard (4), head lock pin (6),
blade access cover (5) and the metal cutting saw is in good condition.
Plug the cordset into the mains socket.
Push the lock-off button (2) and pull the trigger switch (1) to start the tool.
Caution:
Allow the blade to reach maximum speed before performing any cuts.
Using the main handle (17) bring the cutting disc (7)
down onto the work piece and allow it to cut its way
through the work piece without undue force (Fig. 17).
Too much down force will overheat cutting disc and
reduce cutting ability or overload the saw.
Once the cut is finished, raise the main handle (17) to
clear the cutting disc (7) from the work piece, release
the trigger switch (1) and the cut off saw will stop.
Caution:
The cutting disc (7) will continue to turn for
a few revolutions even though the saw is switched off. Keep your hands well away
from the moving cutting cutting disc (7).
