Whendescendingslopes,donotdrivewithoutbrakingand
reduceyourspeed.
Danger as a result of incorrect assembly or settings
CAUTIOn
Risk of tipping as a result of incorrectly set wheels.
Extremesettings(e.g.rearwheelsmountedin
theforemostposition)combinedwithanunfavourablebodyposturecancausethewheelchairtotip
evenonlevelground.Fortransfemoralamputeesitisessentialtoshifttherearwheelsbackwards.
Useofananti-tipperisrequired.

Risk of tipping as a result of missing or incorrectly mounted anti-tipper.
Undernoconditionsshould
theanti-tipperassumethefunctionoftransportwheels,forexampletotransportapersoninthewheel-
chairwiththerearwheelsremoved.Theanti-tippermustaudiblylockinplace,beforeitisabletobear
loads.Firmseatingmustbeverifiedbytheuserorbyanattendant.
CAUTIOn
Risk of tipping as a result of changed diameters/mounting positions of the wheels.
Ifthesize
andpositionofthecastersortherearwheelsizearemodified,thecastersmayflutterwhendrivingat
higherspeeds.Thiscanleadtoblockingofthecastersandcausethewheelchairtotipover.Forthis
reason,youshouldalwaysmaintainthefactorysettingsor,ifmodificationsarerequired,ensurethat
thewheelchairframeisalignedhorizontally(see“Adjustment/AssemblyInstructions”).
CAUTIOn
Risk of falling as a result of unintentional loosening of the rear wheels.
Alwaysmakesurethat
thequick-releaseaxlesarecorrectlysetontherearwheel.Itmustnotbepossibletoremovetherear
wheelunlessthebuttononthequick-releaseaxleispushed.
Danger as a result of improper use of the tyres
CAUTIOn
Risk of accident as a result of insufficient or excessive tyre pressure.
Theeffectivenessofthewheel
lockandtheoveralldrivingqualityaredependentonadequateairpressure.Thewheellocksareonly
effectivewithsufficientairpressureandproperadjustment(approx.
4 mm
distance,subjecttotechni-
calchanges).
Beforestartingtouseyourwheelchair,checkthatthetyresareinflatedcorrectly.Therequiredairpressure
isprintedonthesideofthetyre.Forrearwheels,itshouldbe
at least 3.5 bar
.Withproperlyinflatedrear
wheelsandeventyrepressureonbothsides,yourwheelchairismucheasiertooperateandmanoeuvre.
